2004 - Gearing Up for The L.A.T.E. Ride

Ride Date: July 11, 2004
T-shirt designer: Yvette Diaz DeLeon

Our 16th annual, non-competitive charity ride took place on Saturday night/Sunday morning July 11. Riders enjoyed 25 moonstruck miles through Chicago's downtown and North Side neighborhoods and parks, listened to waves break along the shoreline, and took in a beautiful sunrise as they rode. They saw the best the city has to offer: a stunning skyline, culture, nightlife, architecture and more.

The route, roughly, went from Buckingham Fountain south to Roosevelt Road, through Greek Town, The Loop, Old Town, Lincoln Park, the Northwest Side and along the spectacular lakefront bicycle path, where riders caught a glimpse of the sunrise! They enjoyed snacks at two rest stops along the way and breakfast back at the fountain.
